If I use an AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.4d lens on a D5000, will it damage the lens? - 1

I understand that I can't use the AF function of this lens with the D5000, but will the lens be damaged in any way should I continue to use this lens with this dslr body?

Chris
The lens won't become damaged. The great thing about Nikon lenses is you can use a lot of older lenses from 35mm cameras on the newer DSLRs (though some will not fit certain DSLRs).

Ray
No nothing will be damaged, nikon camera supports all the lenses manufactured by nikon.
