I want to do photo journalism, what camera do you suggest I get?
So i go this nikon d60 and i'm thinking of going abroad and doing some kind of story.
My questions is should I get a new dslr camer? Which one?
or should I get a new lens for my D60, if so which one do you suggest?
Added (1). Can you just answer the question? Maybe I'm doing this for my personal satisfaction.
Has someone already hired you to do photo journalism? If not how do you expect to make any money when you can't even decide on gear? I did a career in television photography and most
news outlets furnish their gear. A photographer can often bring in his own but unless you have a degree in photography and years of experience to back you up - you're going to be very long on
bad pictures and short on income.
I would suggest you go to a good camera store like Ritz or Wolf, and get some advice from them. Take your camera along, and the lenses you already have.
Do you have any idea what kind of story you would like to do? If you, for instance, want to take photos of just people doing things, then you would need a different kind of lens than if you wanted to take just landscapes.
Here, you will only get what someone else would do, or smart remarks. But the salespeople at a good camera store know the lenses and cameras, and if you can get by with the camera you have, maybe you can just buy a new lens or two.
