-Preferably a nikon, SLR maybe? I was considering a nikon d3000
-Capable with a fish-eye would be awesome
-Prices aren't a huge issue, although this is my first camera for photos not videos
-ANY additional info on anything would be great.

I'm a HUGE Canon girl. My camera is the Canon Rebel XSi. It's unbelievable once you know how to use it properly. It's lightweight and so easy to use. It's the best to start off with. I find most Nikons annoying to use. There are over 50 external lenses and flashes that you can get later on too while keeping the base your original camera.

D3000 is a great camera i've had mine for a year and its shoots great for a starter camera. Not many buttons to learn the only thing that might bug some people is that the iso is lower than the d5000 and the D5000 has video.capable with all AF leneses.
