I need assistance in buying a new Nikon camera?

My current camera is a Nikon D3000, but I need a more professional camera. I also have these lens with it:
18-55mm
55-300mm
55-200mm (this one was bought online on a stupid case of false advertising)
60mm macro (Just bought it)

I want to buy a Nikon D7000, but before I do, I need to sell my current camera. I planned to sell the D3000 base with the 55-200mm lens and keep the other lens. But I only just found out that these lenses won't fit the D7000.

My first question is why would Nikon make all of their lenses different to their cameras. I also can't find out the measurements for my camera, so how would I be able to buy a new lens to fit it? I would also like advice on how I can go on about this situation.

If anyone would like to e-mail me for a discussion, my address is kookies7@hotmail.com. It would really be helpful, thank-you.

Why do you "need" a "more professional" camera? What functionality does the D7000 have that your D3000 doesn't and how will that extra functionality improve your photographs?

Learn to use the one you have. If your D3000 photos are bad it is an operator problem not the camera. Upgrading your camera body will not improve your photographs by one iota but will seriously damage your bank account and lead to even more disappointment.

If you swallowed that guff about your current lenses not fitting a D7000, you deserve all you get. The only difference is that the D7000 has a body motor and isn't dependent on the one in your lenses.

Flog the lens you don't want and learn to use the others - and your existing camera - properly. Unless you want to do video (always a bad move in still cameras) the D3000 is perfectly adequate. Don't even think about buying another camera until it wears out.

A new professional camera will cost you more than $4, 000. The D7000 is still an entry-level model. You clearly don't need "a more professional camera."

All of the lenses you own DO fit the 7000. Since you don't know this, you are not ready to upgrade your camera body.

Buying a new body will not improve your photography; actually learning about photography will improve your photography.
