I can't get my pictures on my computer?

I have a nikon d3100 everything was fine until i lost my camera cord so i bought a usb reader for my card when i tried uploading pictures it wouldnt work then i found my cord tried that stil didn't work! The only pictures that showed up were the ones i previously uploaded before i lost my cord before i tried the usb reader

Added (1). I have a macbook the old one it doesn't have a card slot thats why i bought a card reader

Put the memory card in the memory card slot in your computer.

Are you using some kind of software to transfer the files? Are you on a mac or a pc?

If the card does not show up in finder/windows file directory, the card reader is probably the cause. It may also be a malfunctioning card. Try to transfer the files onto a different computer. If that works, then you computer is the problem, obviously, or the combination of reader/card and your computer.

You should also check that you have writing/copying rights for the card. Its usually a small yellow lever on one of the sides of the card. This may affect your success.

Yes just use a memory card reader but make sure the card reader that you bought is for the SD memory card one
