Taking pictures where people will be moving about so I need a frozen shot. Tomorrow and especially Saturday. Model Nikon D3100 DSLR camera, lens 18-55
Thank you~

Added (1). I want precise details on how specifically I can program my camera to do this. I've tried many things from general advice and they haven't worked. This requires someone who owns this camera or has worked with it.
Please answer the question, and don't give me general advice.
Thank you.
(I know I haven't structured it in the correct terminology, however It can still be understood and that is what matters. "frozen shot" is the Idea).

You are having some issues with photographic terms

Slow motion is a term used when shooting films or video and requires frame rates of at least 120 fps.

What you are asking is about using high shutter speeds to freeze action. To do that, you need to shoot at shutter speeds of 1/500th of a second or faster.

Here is a sample of such a shot. It was necessary to use an ISO of 3200 to reach such a shutter speed.html? Sort=3&o=14

Are you talking about slow motion video or time lapse?

If time lapse, this webpage tells you how to do it:
