I always see all of these really pretty girls and how they have these effects on their cameras, and how they make it look good. And well, I just need to find out how to take good photos of myself ---
I have a Nikon D3100 and well it takes really great pictures of everything, except for myself! D: Is their something tat will help me? Here are some examples of how I want my pics to come out ( I WANT TO LOOK GOOD IN PICTURES ALREADY!) like the girls on tumblr. BTW: Unique photo ideas too.

* place your camera on a tripod
* use your lens at 55 mm setting
* place a posing stool or chair where you will be when you photograph yourself
* compose the shot based upon where you expect to be. (shoot in the portrait position -- vertical)
* set up good lighting, at least a key and fill light
* make sure that the background is NOT distracting
* use a remote shutter release and take a series of photos.
* adjust the camera so that you are in the frame (no cut off head or too much space above your head
* continue shooting until you have five or ten great shots of yourself

NOTE: The last one is something you do NOT want. The person held the camera at arm's length and because of that, her facial features are distorted… Due to using a wide angle lens

I took my best self-portraits in the bathroom. It is small, with a mirror and white walls.
Set your camera on an object or use a tripod, and use the timer on your camera. Or get a remote control shutter. You could use another light. Another mirror could be a second light source. Use a plain background, maybe a plain wall or sheet covering a wall. If you have a mirror behind the camera, you can see the viewing screen and get live feedback.

Those links aren't examples of good photos.

Image 1 displays wide angle distortion
Image 2 is over processed - which is a shame, because it could have been a really nice image.

fhotoace gave you the same advice I'd have given you, but he got here first.
