How to remotely activate 'video record' option with Nikon d3200 camera?
I recently bought a Nikon D3200 camera and I've been loving it.honestly, the only reason i bought it was to be able to record videos of my band/ solo live shows/ and make you tube videos. However after setting it up on a tripod and i push the record button to start capturing video, the maximum amount of time it can record is 20mins, (which is what i read in the manual) but the thing is, i simply can't go away from the mic or stage to go click record on the camera after every song, or even every 5 songs. I've found a few shutter release remotes for the nikon d3200, but i'm wondering if it will ONLY remotely take pictures. Or will these remotes ALSO start and stop recording from a distance? Does anyone have any experience with this? (once again. I need a way to remotely start and stop video recording on my nikon d3200) thanks for your time!
There really isn't a way to remotely start and stop the video feature on dSLR's right now.
Even real video cameras do not have a remote capability except for a few prosumer versions.
I suggest you look at some of the JVC, Panasonic, Sony or Canon 3MOS cameras and see which of them have such a feature.
For now, you will have to have your manager start and stop the video recordings of your band
