How to make my flash work in my Nikon D3100?
I was trying to take some pics in a darker room but the flash did not work in auto mode or any of the manual modes, unless the room was a bit brigther! Just the opposite! HOW DO I FIX THAT? I was just about the only one that had a problem everybody elses cameras were flashing away. I felt like a fool with my "better than yours camera" that did not performed well in dim Light, it did take the pics without flash but people had to be very still. I mean its a great camera that needs no flash to take great pics in dark areas but i needed the flash! Dammed it!
^^ See that button on the side of the camera that looks like a lightning bolt?
On Manual or Aperture Priority mode, you should be able to click that button and the flash should pop up and be ready to go!
There's a button for the flash to pop up on the front of the camera.
It has a lightning bolt.
So you have a pricey flash? This might still work.

You mean built-in flash? Any mode should work. Pop it up and set camera to use a shutter speed of 1/250s. If that does not work, lower to 1/125s.
Turn it on lol. There's a button near where your lens attaches. Just read the manual if you can't find it. And adjust the flash settings in the menue.Ie white balance/etc ( it only takes a second to sort it )
