How to improve my Photography? - 2

I'm 15 and I love everything about creating and photography. I started taking photos on my phone when i was 12 and about two years ago my parents got me a NIKON D3000 and I take pictures every chance I get. It really does bring me happiness. I really don't want or like to consider my self another "teenage photographer" because most people consider that snapshots of the grass and sky. I'm very serious about this and always have been. Anyways, I was wondering if there were anyway to improve my Photography? No hate please, just constructive criticism.

Cool pictures buddy. I'm going to give you constructive criticism as you asked though: Cut the cigarette pictures out… These days people look at smoking as a taboo. Plus you said your 15? Before I forget; I advice changing your name on flickr so the whole world doesn't know your full name, age, etc. Moving on… Do you have a computer in which you can edit some of these pictures? Mess around with some editing like "temperature, saturation, contrast, etc" as well as styles "sepia, black/white, antique". There are so many opportunities on iPhoto. Look into maybe purchasing the AF-S DX 18-55mm and 55-200mm VR lenses, great upgrades for a beginner such as yourself. Do some research… Take classes in high school for photography or even outside of school!

If you want to take nature, get a macro prime lens and tripod. If you want to take portraits (which your pix push towards) shoot between 85mm-135mm. I know being young you don't have a lot of money to blow on large aperture lenses, but i'd still save up and eventually get a f2.0 or wider lens. If you can get your hands on lightroom 4 it will help with editing. Your background is just as important as the foreground (blurred or not). Take different angles.sometimes it will be a good pic but you'll think i wish i would've moved to the left or right.
