How much could I get for a used Nikon D40?

I have botch lens attachments. Both in pretty good condition. I want to get a newer camera, how much could I get for my nikon?

We would have no idea of course about its condition, the shutter count and that sort of thing.

If I were you I'd do some research on ebay to see what other used D40's are selling for and base your asking price on that.

I suspect it won't be much but hey it's worth a try. If you're planning on another Nikon just buy
body only and keep the lenses you have. Perhaps you'll want to do what I did. I have a Canon
Rebel XS and 4 lenses. When I wanted to upgrade I bought the eos t1i body only. I kept my XS
because it's an excellent camera.

Currently on eBay a D40 body is at $54.00, a D40 w/55-200mm lens is at $140.00 and a D40 w/18-55mm lens is at $31.00. A D40 body sold for $207.50 in Dec.of 2010.

When inquiring about selling your camera you'll need to be more specific than "I have botch lens attachments… ". You'll need to accurately describe the lenses as well as the condition of the body. Be honest - if you've dropped the camera say so. They'll know when they examine the camera anyway.

You could, of course, keep your lenses and sell just the body and buy a Nikon D90 without a lens.

You are making a HUGE mistake. Keep the camera and buy better lenses. A new camera body will not improve your photography, lenses will.
