How many pics can be held?

I'm getting the nikon d5000 and a 4 gb card how many pics will that hold and how many mp are there?

The amount of pictures you can take will vary on the quality setting your photographing in.

I don't know exactly for that particular camera, but I have a 8mp cannon rebel xt and Shooting in raw on a 2gb card I can get about 155 pictures.

given the higher MP that nikon is compared to my canon, if you shot in raw I would approximate it to be about maybe 250 pictures.

Of course if you shoot in high quality jpeg you will get more pictures.
