How long should i make my shutter speed for a sunset?
I'm going to be using my nikon d60 for some beach sunset photos and before now, i had never played with the shutter speed. So what shutter speed would be ideal for a beach sunset?
D60 has an AF setting, which is generally great it sets the speed based on condition.
If you intend to play with it, I'd slow it down, to a one second exposure, check the results.
You need to make sure you have a decent tripod and the wind isn't a factor.
Check what your meter says, then under expose 1-2 stops.
As long as the photometer marks plus two or three points to get some detail on the sand and sea
Longer the shutter speed - brighter the picture, shorter the shutter speed - darker the picture.
Just look at your light meter and take the photo when the light meter shows the pointer in the middle, then you could maybe take a few more shots after with slightly longer exposures, by about 1-2 shots.
