How to take the lens off of a Nikon D3100?

I just got the camera today and i figured out how to put on the lens but not how to take it off. I tried for a bit but i didn't wanna break the camera so i decided to ask the internet. Can someone please help me?

Look on page 16 of you user manual.

Push the button next to the where the lens barrel connects to the body and turn the lens gently.

and look on page 16 on youe use manual…

You look for the lens release button and turn it counter clock wise. Lens release button/ in the instruction book, read it before you ruin a good camera. And be mad because Nikon won't honor the warranty with your mishandling the camera without charging you!

If you "Just Got The Camera Today" Than WHY haven't you Attempted To READ THE OWNERS MANUAL because THE OWNERS MANUAL actually covers the MOST BASIC CAMERA OPERATION including on "How To Remove The Lens" So Go Pick Up and Start Reading The Owners Manual.
