How to clean a DSLR Lensbaby Scout lens without scratching it?

I got a bit of dust in my Scout lens (by Lensbaby) and it won't work with my Nikon d3000 now. Are there any simple ways to clean it?

I have a microfiber cloth that came with my phone, would that work? Also, could I use a Q-Tip, or would that scratch the glass?

Thank you in advance!

Added (1). The lens isn't designed for a Nikon camera, so small things interfere with the camera recognizing the fact that it has a lens attached.

Don't use a q-tip! They can have some very coarse fibres and bits of wood in - very capable of scratching optical glass. Blow the dust away and/or use a soft-haired brush. I use one of those that the girls use to smooth out their make-up - they are cheap too! Don't use the same one your lady uses!
I don't understand why a bit if dust would stop a lense working.
