Nikon D3000: Lensbaby Scout Lens Not Attached Error?

Paint
Paint

I bought my Nikon in May, and then the Lensbaby Scout Lens with the Fisheye Optic in early July. It usually works perfectly with my camera, but I let my friend use my Nikon with the normal 18-55 mm lens on Auto Focus, which I don't ever do. I think she may have changed a few more settings, and now my camera doesn't recognize that the lens is attached when I have my lensbaby lens on. Are there any settings that I should change/anything I should do to try and fix this?

The contacts may be dirty. Try gently rubbing the contacts on the lens with a clean pencil eraser, then reconnect it and see if that's fixed the problem.

I guess you did not notice before you spent your money that 1) your fine D3000 needs to connect the the AF-S lens you are using to know it is there and 2) that the Lensbaby is a NON-CPU lens.

The Lensbaby Scout is a manual focus lens, so you are going to have to tell your camera that you are using a NON-CPU lens

The Nikon D3000 will only work in manual mode with a Lensbaby. Turn the dial to M and it will work just fine.
