How to change the shooting speed on the Nikon D3100?

Please don't tell me to read the manual. I can't read… Yea

so can anyone who owns a nikon D3100 please explain how to change this setting?

1 Rotate the mode dial to S.
2 Choose a shutter speed. Shutter speed is shown in the viewfinder and information display. Rotate the command dial to choose the desired shutter speed from values between 30 s and 1/4, 000 s.
3 Frame a photograph, focus, and shoot.

the shooting speed is roughly 3 pictures per second on the D3100. If there's enough light, your camera will perform the full 3fps.

now if it is shutter speed you are talking about, then you would have go to shutter priority or Manual mode (S or M setting) and spin the dial.
