How to connect my Nikon D3100 to my computer? - 1

I must be missing something, because I found the USB port but I'm not sure how to connect it to my computer (I use a MacBook, by the way).Is there a cord or something I didn't see, do I have to buy a connector cord, or can I just use a cord from another camera (not Nikon)?

Any quality usb chord will do. The best thing to do, however, is to plug the SD card directly into your computer for the fastest and safest transfers. Once you are done transferring, format the card in your camera.

The camera comes with a USB cable that you connect to the USB port in the computer. First you need to install the Nikon disk into the computer so that the pictures have somewhere to transfer to.
