How to get the screen on my nikon to show the pictures before I take them?
My mom just bought a Nikon D3000 and she wants to use the screen to view instead of looking through the eyepiece, How can we change the setting?
LiveView. I'm not sure if the D3000 has it. Check the manual.

Just checked. No LiveView. What you want is not possible. Use the optical viewfinder. It will take a while to get used to it but it's better. The camera would also be more stable if you ram the rear end to your nose and cheek.
That is not how you are supposed to use a DSLR. You line up your shots with a DSLR by looking through the viewfinder.
A real photographer will use the viewfinder because
1. No battery usage (using live view will take away 2/3rds of your battery life)
2. No lagg
3.more stability
also your D3000 does not have the live view function
That feature isn't available on the D3000. There are benefits when using the viewfinder instead of the LCD screen, one of them is that you can hold the camera a lot more steady- avoiding blurry pictures.
If your mom wants a camera that has the feature, tell her to sell the D3000 and get the D3100 instead.
