How to fix the command dial on my Nikon D50?

On my Nikon D50 camera, the command dial is broken. It won't adjust the aperture or shutter settings. It also won't do function when I've taken a picture and I'm trying to zoom in on the photo I took on the screen. I even changed the lenses and batteries. Will I have to get the command dial repaired or is there a solution that can fix it right away? Also, if I do have to get it repaired, where do I take it?

You will have to get it repaired. Take it to a Nikon authorized repair center

I've got the repair manual for that camera, used to own one. Replacing that dial is major surgery, parts are difficult to get. Nikon or a good repair center can fix that but that would likely cost more than a replacement D50 would cost.
If you're a serious user it may be time to think about a D90 while stocks last. If you're a casual "it's on the green square most of the time" shooter then see about getting a used or refurbished D3000 or D3100.
