My Nikon D3200 skips over modes on the command dial?

A couple of days ago my camera started skipping over modes on the command dial and it won't allow me to use modes like kids(Little kid), or aperture(A). What should i do? And I've already reset the shooting mode, unless there's a way to factory reset it.

Sounds like dirty contacts to me. You might check with a proper camera shop about using some contact cleaner or having that checked by the shop. Otherwise the only alternative is sending it to Nikon for service and that will be at least $150 or more.

It could be that certain mode are not available in different menus.
For instance, in the "Kids" mode, the camera chooses the settings so does not want you changing them.
Or, as Jim says, it might be dirty contacts.
But remember that not all modes and features are available in all settings.
