Help nikon D3100 18-55mm lens?

Hi, so about six months ago my nikon lens broke. I just bought a new one and it doesn't work. I'm not sure if its my camera or the lens itself. When I take a picture, only a little bit of the picture comes out and the rest is black. When I look through the hole it looks foggy, like there's black stuff on the screen. Now it won't even let me take pictures. It says "Please press shutter release button again" I really need help, my parents bought it for me christmas of 2010 and its been broken since last august.

Have a professional digital camera technician inspect the problem. You may have to have it repaired. Www.authorizedphoto.com -keh.com). Keep your camera in a case that is in a climate controlled area and free of dust and moisture---Use GIOTTO cleaning kits ( bhphotovideo.com)!

A little bit of the picture comes out… That means the mirror is damaged or the shutter. That only happens after a serious fall.

Your lens broke? Dropped? If it dropped with the camera, the camera may be damaged too. Ask your parents to bring you and the camera (and lens) to the authorized Nikon service center nearest you. If you don't know where, ask the store you bought the camera from.
Do not take it against your parents if they leave you there after finding out how much the cost of repair will be.
