Good time to get a Digital SLR camera?

Hi, I recently became interested in buying a entry-level DSLR camera and was wondering if anyone has advice on when they drop in price (Black-Friday), also which make and model takes quality pics and doesn't cost $600-700. I've seen a Nikon D3000 for ~$500 but I'm wondering if anyone has gotten one of these cams or something similar for <$450, I don't mind buying used.

Black Friday is usually for little cameras.
You've got Canon EOS XS and D3000 at around $450, both are 2-3 years old. Then Canon EOS T3 and Pentax K-r that are around $550 and Nikon's D3100 for a bit more. All will be excellent.

I agree one day is just good as another. The camera makers never lower their prices so the only discount will be from the retailer - perhaps $50 or so.
For your budget I'd recommend the Canon Rebel XS. I own one and it's an excellent camera.
