First time digital slr buyer.need advice? - 1

So I'm 16 and I'm looking to buy my first d slr camera. I have looked into the Canon rebel t2i and the Nikon d3100. If anyone owns either or prefers one or the other let's me know. Any advice for a beginner/amateur photographer would be great! I'd love any other camera recommendations as well.

- Nikon D3100 small camera is really good. Photo quality are excellent.
from ISO 100 to ISO 3200.
The guide mode is very good to set the camera to a particular situation.
The camera feels very solid. The autofocus 11 points is fast with the ViewFinder
You feels like a pro.
