Good starting camera?
So it's my birthday and I love taking pictures so I wanted to know what a good Canon digital camera would be? I love this girl on instagram (secretparadisiac) and she has a nikon d40. I like the quality and how it takes fast pictures to where it has good action shots and clear hair flips etc. My rice range is around 200. Any ideas?
Well, yes the Nikon d40 is a good camera that takes great shots. However a new one is old for the cheapest $430… You can surely buy a used one for as low as $160 https://www.amazon.com/...000KJQ1DG/ a lot of the times, these used cameras are in great conditions, just that people need to upgrade and therefore put them up for sale. If you are interested in getting a used camera, I even implore you to go bigger and better, get a Nikon D3000 >> http://www.amazon.com/...002JCSV5I/
It is a much better camera.
At that price a second hand Nikon D40 or D60 is about as good as you will get. Maybe a D3000. A bridge camera or compact won't react as fast and won't have the image quality because of having much smaller sensors.
If you can stretch the budget to a secondhand D80 or D90 that would be even better, but somewhat heavier. Alternatively consider saving up for a new D3100, which is a lot like the D40 in many ways, but much improved.
This is a nice one for around $100 http://www.usa.canon.com/...shot_a1400
Definitely it would be Canon, D-10 and D-20 both are good one to get started with!
