Flash SB 24, can be use to D5100 nikon?

This SB 24, an old model of nikon speedlights, can we used it for nikon D5100 camera?

With older flashes designed for film cameras, one concern is whether there's a high trigger voltage that didn't upset the mechanical camera but could damage a digital camera.

the SB24 should be safe.
However, there may not be TTL communication between the old flash and the DSLR. It should work, but you would have to use it in manual mode. You may need to use the guide number and estimate distance and calculate aperture setting. For bounce flash you would have to open up an additional 2-3 stops.
