DSLR: Which model is best for me? - 1
I'm a begginner photographer and this is gonna be my first DSLR. I want my camera for images rather than video mostly. I just want the best image quality over all for the most reasonable price.
I'll also throw in the age old question: Nikon or Canon?
I've only really done my research for Nikon and found the D3200 to be good. If there are any Canon models that are equivelent to that what are they?
Personally I think Nikon is better.
Neither is better - there's also Sony Pentax & Olympus.
They all make similar models in similar price ranges. Those on here who shoot Canon will recommend those, Nikon shooters will recommend those.
Set your budget, go into a proper camera store & ask to try out the models within that budget. Check for weight, menu choices, button position & general 'feel'. Buy whichever one feels best for YOU rather than complete strangers on the web.
Personally, I shoot Nikon, because it has features that are important to me which Canon doesn't have - that may not be applicable to you.
Canon for me - they led the DSLR revolution with the 5D II and I've stayed loyal. Plus I have a hefty collection of canon lenses now…
Grab a body only 1100D or a 550D with the EF 50mm 1.8, and the Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 - beautiful lenses. Swap the 50mm out for something like the Tamron or cheap canon 70-300 if you want a longer reach (I never do - my 85mm f/1.8 is as long as I ever need to go).
Read up on the basics - exposure, composition, simple post-processing - then go out and shoot!
Best of luck:-)
It really depends on where you are more comfortable using, either nikon or canon. The first dlsr i used was a canon so i'm more comfortable using canon dslrs.nikon d3200 is a good camera. The canon equivalent is 550d 600d 650d. But at the end of the day its how you use your camera that matter
