Does this lens work with a Nikon D3100?

Yes, they will mount onto your camera but the lenses won't autofocus (like you mentioned) or meter your pictures.

If you want you could get a separate meter, but it is a little bit of an inconvenience.

All the lens made by Nikon would mount on any Nikon camera-body.
With Canon its different…
