Does the Tokina 12-24mm f/4 AT-X 124 AF Pro DX lens autofocus on the Nikon D7000?
I'm deciding whether to get the older version of the lens or the new "II" version.
The Nikon D7000 has an on-board auto-focus motor. That means that it can shoot with any of the Nikkor legacy AF lenses or any of the generic auto-focus camera, with or without a focusing motor in the lens.
The new Tokina lens has a new quieter DC auto-focus motor so should focus a tiny bit faster than the older model
NOTE: Of all the third party lenses, Tokina stands out as the best of them
Yeah it'll AF fine. The neat thing about your D7000 is that it autofocuses every AF lens that is offered for Nikon mount. Granted, the motor driven focus will be a bit slower and louder than an in-lens motor, it's better than nothing.
Yes.
I have the Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 version of that lens, and it autofocuses find on my D90.
