Does the nikon D3100 with 18-55 mm lens kit come with batteries?

Yes it does and you might need to buy some additional batteries if you want.
I have the same camera and they did give me batteries along with the camera.
It will come with one EN-EL14 Battery. I would recommend buying an additional battery, if you shoot a lot, or go traveling / out for a day or so taking photos. You will get a lot of photos out of one charge - and even more if you do not use LiveView, or take videos. Using your LCD screen, or shooting video is really fast way to drain/use up your videos.

Go here and scroll about half way down: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/...amera.html On the right hand side, you will see a list of "What's in the Box." This is what is SUPPOSED to come from the factory as the D3100 kit. Any legitimate dealer will include all of this. If you have to buy the batteries or cables or strap (etc) as an extra, turn and run!
I can't really see whether Future Shop shows you such a list.
