Does my tripod have a quick plate?

I own a Slik Pressman Tripod and a Nikon D40. The camera armor on my D40 makes screwing the camera body to the tripod an ordeal. I recently discovered the existence of the "quick plate." I'm quite sure my tripod doesn't currently have one so I'm wondering if it was ever outfitted with one or if I can buy a set up for it.

If you are able to attach your camera to the tripod as is, it probably doesn't have a quick release plate. You'd see some sort of latch if it did anyway.

Consider adding one.

You are right. Your tripod does not have a quick release plate. You have a couple of options:

1) Get a universal quick release (look at http://www.amazon.com/...00006JQ6C/ )

2) Get a new tripod
