I just bought a d5100 and I want to take it back to get d7000 eventually or canon 7d. But I have photography projects due. Also I can't wait longer or else I won't be able to take the camera back. To sum it all up. Should I take it back and give my project of what I already have done? Should I get the Nikon d7000 or canon 7d. What should I do? Just keep the d5100 I have no clie

Instead of trading the camera, use the money you'll save to get an extra lens.

The Nikon D5100 is an excellent camera and performs almost as well as the D7000

Here is how the sensors of those three cameras compare.

As you will see, the sensor performance especially in low light, the D5100 and D7000 excel

I don't see how using a Nikon D5100 for most of your project and the next day using a D7000 will change your projects advancement in any way.

I have three dSLR's and at any time I use one over the other for different assignments with no slowing in my photographic processes.

You don't need to do anything but it sounds like you want to change bodies. Worry about taking good pictures, not what camera you are using. Like someone else said, get good lenses, they are more important.

Since it is painfully obvious that you know next to nothing about cameras, keep the D5100.

Stick with what you have and learn to get the best out of it.
