Does a 18-55mm lens fit a Canon 60D?

I have a Nikon d3100 and i want to upgrade (is it worth it/good idea?) to a canon 60d.
I'm planning on selling my old camera. I want to keep the lens. Will it fit a Canon?

No it probably won't, you typically have to buy lenses built to mount your specific brand of SLR. You might want a lens with a little more oomph than an 18-55 anyway. Personally I like the Sigma 18-200mm… But it's a bit of an investment.

No, it won't fit.

What exactly do you hope to gain by this upgrade though? Why not the Nikon D7000, which gives the 60D a run for its money? Frankly, considering that the D3100 isn't that old, i don't quite see how you could possibly have exhausted its capabilities yet.

You have not outgrown your 3100. Going from one entry-level camera to another entry-level model is a typical beginner mistake that is not worth doing. No, Nikon lenses will not fit Canon bodies. Buying a new lens or two will improve your pictures more than buying a new body. Tell us what you like to shoot and we can recommend lenses for you.
