Do old Nikon SLR lenses autofocus on Nikon DSLR?

I have some old Nikon SLR lenses (the type that has no electrical contact). I know they don't autofocus on lower-end model like D40 because D40 does not have built-in motor. How about higher-end model like D80 or the newer D7000? I know those models have built-in motor, but my SLR lenses don't have electrical contact. Does autofocus still work?

If the lens has the letters "AF" than they will. Since they don't have the electronic contacts, they are either AI or pre-AI lenses. This means that they will not autofocus at all.AI lenses, however, will meter on the D7000, D300s, D3 series, and D700. Pre-AI lenses will mount ONLY on the D40, D60, D5000, D3000, and D3100, but exposure will be completely manual, as will focusing

Higher end Nikon cameras like the D80, D90, D200, D300, D7000 and all the D2 and D3 series cameras can use any of the AF-S, AF-I, AF and AI (manual) lenses with complete ability to use their light meters

Here is a complete list of compatible lenses and cameras.

Old Nikon lenses will NOT auto focus on:
D40
D40x
D60
D3000
D3100
D5000
D7000

As these cameras haven't got a motor to drive the system. If they are F-mount lenses, they will fit, probably meter. However, if there are no electrical contact they're pretty old, and will need to use the aperture ring (your camera won't record aperture in the exif info) and focus ring manually.

With other Nikon DSLRs, so long as they are F-mount they will fit and AF if they are AF lenses. The camera won't record aperture still though.

If you decide you don't want them, I'll have 'em.
