Canon T3 or Nikon D3100? - 1

I'm NOT a professional photographer and I do need a camera but I need an hd camera most of all, that's why I've decided to get a dslr. These are the two that I've settled on and I would like to know if anyone has an opinions on these two cameras.

It comes down to personal preference where some may like how Nikon feels in their hands or how the layout of the Nikon Cameras are. Vice Verse on Canon Cameras.
Nikon fans would be saying to get Nikon. Same thing with Canon Fans where they would be saying to get Canon.
So otherwise it all comes down to personal preference

If you compare both the D3100 look more better, It features better video mode.lets's have look of Nikon D3100 vs Canon 1100D / T3 - http://thenewcamera.com/?p=3699
If you are a still shooter I will suggest you to buy Canon T3 / If you eant to shoot movies and still images both by Nikon D3100

I would go with the Nikon. They even out in quality at higher end lenses, but Nikon lenses are better at entry level.
They are both good cameras though. Go to a physical store and get a feel for both cameras to find your preference.

I recommend the Canon EOS Rebel T3i. It shoots 1080p HD at 30 fps and 720p at 60 fps. It also has a flip- out vari angle 3" LCD screen in addition to the viewfinder. It also has several Video modes and auto focus points for easy filming. It has the universal Hot Shoe mount for a light and an External Mic input as well. It can film on an SD card, as well as Compact Flash storage.
I'm also really into film making, and I plan on purchasing this camera for its superior HD Video quality. Hope this helps!

HD only applies to video, not stills. And it only applies to video size, not video quality. For recording videos, you should buy an actual camcorder. Despite popular belief, DSLRs are not replacements for actual video cameras and do not offer better video quality than actual camcorders. Camera manufacturers put video recording capabilities on their DSLRs so uninformed people buy them to record videos.
