Canon FD to Nikon Adapter?

My very close friend gave me some vivatar lenses after I told him I got a dslr. I was really excited to get them, since they were very nice lenses. Made in Japan and full metal construction. But sadly, I have a Nikon D3100. I really want to use these lenses though. So I've been searching through the internet for a adapter, since I saw that Canon had one to use Nikon lenses. I found one after a long search, but before I did, I saw a lot of topics about how you could use Nikon lenses on Canon bodies, but not the other way around.
So does this work or is it just a fluke?

If it exists, it's not worth it. You lose most of the capability of the lens. I don't know if you want manual focus or autofocus, but FD lenses are manual only.

Not physically possible
You can buy an inexpensive Canon camera made before 1987 that can use those lenses. The Canon FTb costs under $50 if you can find one on craigslist

You are spending a lot of money on a camera - buy good lenses, and don't miss around with adapters and 40yr old lenses. Vivitar lenses are not high quality lenses.
The adapter will not allow you to focus to infinity anyway, so they are pretty much worthless when it comes to image quality.
