Cannon Eos Camera, Witch ones best?

This is my first professional camera. I'm debating on a cannon eos and a Nikon D40. Please help! I'm just starting out, What one(s) would be best for me that can be adjustable and can also have a auto setting. I also want a decent one. Or should i go with the Nikon D40! I also would preferably like a movie feature!

The Nikon you should be looking at is the D3100.It has Full HD video with full auto-focus in the video mode, something the Canon Rebels do not have.

Both the Nikon and Canon entry level cameras can be used in full manual or three different auto modes.
