Can the NIKON d5000 tolerate the heat in the trunk of a car in CA for several days?
Don't put any camera in the trunk of a car. This is the first rule of camera carrying, just like having the sun at your back for your first pictures, when you are new to photography.
I really would not recommend it. Extreme heat can be very damaging to Digital cameras or any electronic devices.
I would not make a habit of doing that, but most dSLR's are robust enough to take some abuse
There are those of us who live in Arizona who use cameras, outside in bright sun with the temperature that exceeds 110 degrees for days on end. The cameras I use have been able to survive years of such operating conditions with no ill effects.
Yes it can
I fear the answer may be no, as I left mine in the trunk of our car in Houston for 4 days and now it's making a funny whirring noise when I try to take photos. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what this may be? It looks and sounds like it's having trouble auto- focusing.
