Can the flip out screen of nikon d 5100 break, if yes then how to repair it?
I'm buying d5100, the shop attendant told me dat d90 is better, however i'm convinced dat i will buy d5100, then he said dat the flip out screen can break after use of 1-2 yrs and its unrepairable. Is it true? Please reply quickly guys… I'm a noob about DSLRs… So please help and explain bit by bit.
If you do not abuse the articulated LCD, it should last for decades.
The shop attendant is confused or just ignorant.
My guess is that the "attendant" is trying to sell their last D90 (circa 2008) which was replaced in 2010 by the D7000
Yes it can break. And you don't fix it, you send it back to Nikon to get it fixed.
The seller is a douche, nothing more. Anything will break if you beat on it long enough, but the flip out screen is no more fragile than any other component.
Any part of a camera can break, and any part can be repaired or replaced.
I'd look to another seller…
