Can I use a 64GB SDHC card in my Nikon D90?

Yes I know its a large capacity, but I shoot weddings and venues all in RAW and after having just recently done a wedding using my 16GB class 10 card, it simply isn't enough storage to be on the safe side. I did however, just manage to cover the entire wedding with about space for 20 pictures to spare so I was lucky this time round.

I have looked online and in the manual with little information on this subject.

thanks

Added (1). Thanks, and mostly everyone thus far is wrong, I just found out that a 64GB SDXC card works perfectly fine in the D90, even though it isn't actually supported.

My 6 year old digital has no problems with a 32GB Class 10 SDHC (unheard of when the camera was manufactured), can't see why your new(er) camera would have any issues.

That is why you have multiple memory cards at hand

you don't purchase one giant one, you purchase multiple cards. That way, the data is spread out over multiple sources and if one fails, you don't lose everything.

get more 16gb or 8gb cards. Don't go higher.

Yes, you can BUT…

Instead of buying on large-capacity card, buy a second 16GB card.

If you rely only on that single 64GB card, and you loose it, it becomes damages or corrupt etc, you're screwed.

I have not tried one in my D90, but it probably will not work.

The SDHC card specification only goes to 32Gb. Larger cards are actually SDXC, and they must be formatted in exFat.

At any rate, heed the advice above - multiple smaller cards are more advantageous. I have mostly 8Gb cards, and the GB/Dollar price is pretty attractive these days.

Nope, because there's no such thing as a 64GB SDHC card, the SDHC spec only goes up to 32GB! For 64GB cards the camera needs to be SDXC compliant, which the Nikon D90 is not.

So sorry your limit is 32GB SDHC!
