Will a Kingstion 16GB Class 10 SDHC memoery card work with a Nikon D90 camera?

The manual for the Nikon D90 states that Sandisk up to 8GB, Panasonic up to 32GB and Toshiba up to 32GB, and some other Lexar cards all work with the camera. That's the whole list though, and it says any other cards have not been tested.

So, does anyone know if a Kingston Class 10 16GB card will work properly with the D90 please?

Because it is not tested doesn't necessarily mean it won't work.

I have used a Kingston 2gb class 4 card on my D90.

Can't say for sure if that parlays into the 16Gb card working or not, but I have never had a card not work in my D90.

On the other hand, I buy mostly SanDisk or the better brands. I don't buy the cheap stuff.

I would never use a 16GB card so couldn't tell you.

I would not recommend anyone to use anything over 4GB.

Have you ever lost a photo? How about 10 photos? How about 100 photos? Could you afford to lose hundreds of pictures at once? A 4GB card holds a LOT of photos even shooting Jpg and Raw.SD cards go bad and most of the time with data on them that has not been saved anywhere. To minimize the risk of loosing data smaller sized cards are optimal. Also a 4GB card Is the same as a burnable DVD. Hence, you transfer the the SD card to a computer, then Burn that onto a DVD and you have a backup.

Also the cost of a 16GB class 10 card is high dollar for the camera. Class 10 transfer rate would only be faster on a computer not in the camera. The D90 uses class 6 transfer rate witch most video cameras require as a minimal. The cost of one 16GB card you could get 4 to 6 4GB class 6 cards. And a case to keep them in.
