Can I turn flash on while recording on my nikon d3200?
I'm new to DSLR cameras and I just got a Nikon D3200 today for my birthday and I was wondering if flash while recording is possible? I want to shoot video at night.
The 'flash' is designed to give a quick burst of light for a 'still shot' photograph, if you need more light for your video you would have to purchase a 'video light' that gives a constant beam, a bit of research would be needed as I imagine the limitations of the lightsource (power) would, depending on the distance of your subject have to be taken into consideration.
A tripod might be a more interesting and suitable accessory for developing your interest in video at night. Enjoy!
No. You'll need another light source or use day light. Camera flash units don't work that way at all.
You can flip it up, why not but flash is just like lightning - momentary. It's common sense so if you used a flash to light up a video, you'll get strobe lighting - one that goes on and off at very discernible intervals. Even if that were possible, why would you want to do that?
No. The flash is for taking pictures only. For video, use a video light or continuous lighting.
No you need something like the these
Permanent light sources, these as reviewed run on leds and on batteries. And being metz they will be cheap enough for a beginner to work with.
