Canon 1000D
or…
Nikon D3000.

I'm 15 and getting a dslr for christmas.
I have been looking around for quite some time now and have kinda picked these two but i want to be 100% sure on which one i'm getting because it is A LOT of money to spend!
I basically want one that takes clear pictures and had a good focus because i like doing close ups of flowers and insects e.c.t
The Canon is surprisingly cheaper then Nikon and i really need some expert help!

Both are great, actually. If you're spending that much money, it's always good to go out and test the cameras for yourself at a nearby camera/electronic store.
However, I know that not all stores carry those specific cameras because they're slightly old models, but try out some cameras from their respective brands, just to see which brands user interface and button layout you prefer.

In the end, it's all about personal preference so it's important that you get the one that works best for you.

P.S. For close-ups you will need a macro lens, but that'll cost you a couple hundred more dollars at the least. Just stick with the 18-55mm kit lens for now and learn from that.

I'd say go with Nikon D3000.It has a much larger screen, larger sensor, larger viewfinder, better color depth, slightly more dynamic range, has more lenses available, has boost ISO that the canon doesn't and is slightly smaller, thinner and cheaper.

About the close ups, i'd say you can get a good macro lens but that would add to the price of the camera. The basic lens would do just fine, you can always upgrade later on.
