Camera DSLR Advice for semi-starter. Nikon or Canon? - 1
Quick intro. I'm about to buy my first DSLR camera, keep in mind that my aunt is a photographer and I have messed with her equipment lots of times. I want to buy something of my own though and my budget is not that big, also I would be able to access my aunts NIKON lens.
I think my choices vary from the NIKON D90, D3200 or Canon 600D.
What would be a better investment?
Are any of your Aunt's Nikon lenses AF? If so, you will want a D90 or better (D7000, D7100, etc) or the lenses will not autofocus. If they are all AF-S, then you can get the D3200.
The Canon 600D will not be able to use her lenses.
And be sure to ask your Aunt's permission before using her lenses.
I'd buy Pentax - but I can count to more than two, and I've trusted them for longer than you've been alive.
Find a dealer and look at All the options (Sony do better video), choosing the camera that feels best in your hands.
Sharing kit is all very well in principle, but what happens if your aunt is using the lens you want to borrow? What will you do if you damage her kit?
Keep at the back of your mind that you MIGHT be able to borrow certain lenses, but buy the camera that feels best in YOUR hands.
