About digital cameras?

I'm probably getting a nikon d3000.So can you tell me all about shutter speed, iso, and whatever this f2.8 stuff is about?

I would recommend the D3100, because it's newer and has more MP. Usually the camera automatically choose the shutter speed, ISO, and aperture (f2.8 stuff). And I don't know exactly what they are but here's what I know:
Shutter Speed- How fast the camera takes the picture. 1/10 is slow and 1/4000 is very fast, which is good for taking pictures of stuff like sports.
ISO- This is usually automatically picked by the camera. But it's used when it's dark and it makes the picture brighter
Aperture- The depth of field, or how in focus something is. Sorry, but I don't know a lot about aperture.
