A good travel tripod for DSLR? - 1

I want to get a a light weight travel tripod for my Nikon D60. Looking at a few travel tripods on amazon and their reviews, i got the feeling light weight ones don't often support DSLRs. Is there any reliable light weight ones that are reliable?

Don't get a cheesy tripod that won't help your photos. Either get a good one and deal with the weight (who said photo was fun, lol) or don't get one.

One thing I did, when I took cameras on vacation and didn't care to deal with a tripod, was to bring a bean bag (mine was actually empty and would get filled with whatever was available such as sand or dirt) and a heavy duty clamp with a ball head.

I look for tripod companies that state how much weight the tripod can actually take. It needs to be written clearly and black and white.

A lot of those cheap flimsy tripods that have been mentioend are designed for point and shoots. Weight isn't a problem. They aren't designed for dslr use.

Teh brand i use is
benro (www.benro.com) The quality is very good and they come from a much lower pricepoint than the gittzo and manfrotto counterparts.
