Did the Nikon D600 get good reviews?
My mom has been into photography and stuff for many years now. She has alot of different high end cameras, but I wanted to buy her something new for her birthday. I'm thinking about the Nikon D600. Has anyone done a review of the camera yet?
By your question I'm assuming that the Nikon D600 is YOUR idea. That is wonderful of you to consider you mom this way. But make sure she has her heart set on getting a specific model in the future and endeavor to get her "that" model.
According to CameraPros review on the Nikon D600, it was excellent. There's alot of people that posted their review on CameraPros. Here is the link http://camerapros.org/index.php/nikon-d600-24-3-mp-cmos-fx-format-digital-slr-camera-body-only.html
I posted my review on it, I really like it so far.
That's very nice of you, but there are many things to consider:
Is Nikon the system of DSLRs that your mom currently uses? There would be no point to a D600 if all her other accessories are for Canon.
What camera does she currently use? If it's a D700 or even D800, then she too wouldn't really benefit that much from a D600.
What lenses does she own? If it's mostly DX lenses, then she wouldn't be able to properly use them on a FX camera as the D600 (they'd technically work but with a disadvantage that would render the D600's biggest strength useless). Also, the angle of view of the lenses would be different and they just might not suit her needs then anymore.
Can you post further details about what camera and lenses your mom uses, and what kind of photography she does?
