Cracked pentaprism in an SLR?

So my friend recently gave me two SLR bodies and a bunch of lenses, and one of the bodies is a Nikon F. It has a cracked pentaprism. I was wondering how this would affect my photos and if it could be repaired. If it can be repaired would it be costly?

The pentaprism is part of the viewfinder - so it will only affect what you see through the viewfinder. It won't have any effect on the photo.

The Nikon F had interchangeable pentaprisms and focus screens.
It may be possible to repair the damage, but the cost may be high. So, it may be less expensive to just replace the pentaprism unit.

Nikon's are legendary for their ability to take abuse and continue to operate. If the internal stuff, the reflecting surfaces, focus screen and focus, light meter still works perfectly, and the unit still pops off and on correctly, I would use it.
Plus the camera body and it's parts still are in working condition, like shutter, film advance, camera back still light tight, I would certainly use it as is.

Good bragging rights for you and the company.
