Canon 1200(with lenskit) or Nikon d5200 good?
Hi friends I'm planning to buy a new DSLR. I started wildlife photography years ago with a point and shoot, now I'm planing to upgrade to a DSLR. Which one is good?
Here is how different digital camera sensor perform.
With this data, you can decide for yourself.
Any of them, but the kit lens won't get you far.
Canon's equivalent of the D5200 is the EOS 700/Rebel T6i, and the Pentax K-50 is a better camera on paper than either.
Your best bet is to find a dealer, handle them, and work it out for yourself.
Any will do. I suggest going small on the body and instead concentrate on getting the longest and most monstrous lens you can afford.
The D5200 has more megapixels as well as more auto-focus points. So if your wildlife is far away and moving as you're shooting, the Nikon seems to be the better choice of the two.
One of the advantages of a P&S over a DSLR is the affordability of a long lens. The super zoom cameras can get you incredible zoom for less than $600. A decent long lens for a DSLR will run you in the thousands, after you buy the DSRL body. Look over these long zoom cameras and see if one is right for you.
