Can you mount a 55-200mm f4-5.6G ED DX lens on a D600? - 1
I'm hoping to rent a proper FX lens, however if I'm unable to do so, is it possible to mount the above on a Nikon D600?
Yes you can use DX lenses on Nikon FX bodies - the camera will detect that a crop sensor lens is fitted & only use the centre portion of the sensor - this means that your MP is less, but it is likely to still be plenty.
Yep, you can mount DX lenses on the D600. Just make sure that the camera is set to automatically switch to DX mode when the lens is mounted. Also remember when composing the picture that only the area within the black triangle in the vuewfinder is part of the DX area, the rest is outside of the active sensor area.
You can force the camera to film in FX mode and use the whole sensor, but then there will be very heavy vignetting as only the DX portion is covered from the lens and the rest is unused
